...let inquiry lead your craft... 2.23.21...

...writers write... they sit... they grab a beverage as dehydration is a necessary side-effect of writing... we are after-all engaging in thoughts... air... entering the ethereal of space... winded with each sentence.... each run on... every word going through its own birth rite and the rite of passage of works in progress... of returning to them after stepping away... after being haunted...

... jhumpa lahiri returned to her story of two brothers assassinated by the indian paramilitary after 15 years... after 2 or 3 books written... she couldn't find the language... needed more spirit to engage with what happened... it may be the difference between what is contrived in memory and what is felt... what is based on knowledge and what is a lived breathed lucid experience... as rohan mistry told his audience in the candian university he received his honorary degree from... those who have knowledge can give you answers... those who have wisdom asks questions... he was quoting someone else... his book was banned... burned by the right wing militant hindu extremists known as shiv sena... it's odd using this language that is so often used on muslims almost exclusively and somehow the violent actions of other religious movements are eschewed of this designation...

...whatever it is your doing, go deeper in your craft... sylvia plath, when asked if she preferred the company of other writers said that she abhors being around artists, writers, as they are narcissistic and impractical... she much rather prefers being around people like her midwife who can teach her something pragmatic... she is drawn she said to people who are deeply and pragmatically engaged in their craft...

...are you deep in your craft?... what is it?... how are you sharing?... how are you being in dialogue with the wounded world?...
